Intergenerational practice of video game design: analysis and learning in retirement homes (PICJV).
The PICJV project is interested in intergenerational video game design and practice activities between seniors living in retirement homes and children aged 8 to 10. We seek to analyze two aspects of these practices: the methods of intergenerational rapprochement around a digital object and the learning associated with the design and practice of a video game among seniors and children. We will carry out and analyze a series of workshops exploiting the possibilities of Pixel Press software which allows you to create video game levels by drawing them on a sheet of paper. It is enough to photograph the drawing of the level so that the software makes it automatically playable. Despite the technical ease, achieving a level requires communication, collaboration as well as mastering the language of the software and applying it in practice with pencil in hand.
